It’s the season for viral videos, and Philadelphia Eagles’ Jason Kelsey is kicking off the 2022 NFL season with a moment of his own on social media after fans went into a frenzy over being flung by Detroit Lions midfielder Malcolm Rodriguez at The Eagles win 38-35 on Sunday.
During a podcast with younger brother and Kansas City Chiefs End Court Travis Kelseythe duo talked about the viral moment when the veteran suffered a “hip throw” in the sixth round of the 2022 draft pick.
“You’re going viral now because of your encounter with… Malcolm Rodriguez. He gave you a good shot in WWE,” Travis Kelsey joked on the New Heights podcast.
Jason Kelsey said before extending credit to Rodriguez.
“It was impressive though. He was a quick development in the hips. He is a good player. He made a better move with me in a tie game earlier in the game where he interfered in Galen Hurts.
“This kid has a really bright future, he’s been a star on ‘Hard Knox’ and he seems to have a great mentality. It’s not the first time I’ve gone viral to get my kicks, and I’m sure it won’t be the last.”
Travis Kelsey remembered his viral moment when he went on tour with him Buffalo Bills linebacker Von Miller.
“I got thrown in the thigh by von Miller in my sophomore year in the league, and he actually threw me the hip out of one knee. I felt like a rag doll,” Travis said. “I thought the play was about to end, so I just kind of – I don’t want to say I left it – but I definitely wasn’t trying to focus on Vaughn, and Vaughn had a very different idea of what was going on. He knew he wasn’t going to play the play and he threw me in next week. “
While the two brothers laughed off the viral moments, Jason Kelsey added that these plays are pretty much inevitable.
“I feel like I went viral for getting kicked like a rite of passage in the NFL,” Jason said. “Everyone will at some point.”
The Black is back at hand Of the Eagles late in the second half but eventually fell at the season opener for the third year in a row. But the Kelsey brothers loved what they had seen so far.
“I’m not going to lie,” Travis said. “After watching Hard Knocks, I became a fan of lions and a lot of the characters they got.” “Dan Campbell – I love playing for him, great guy.
Jason added, “What they’re doing on HBO supports the team they’re trying to get to know. They’ve got a solid-minded coach, and their team has played that way.”
